Creative Brief
As part of the BST Hyde Park festival experience, Crxss Agency and Sam Barker commissioned Little Shadow to help create an immersive digital activation at Flat Iron Central @ Speakeasy. The challenge was to entertain and visually engage festival-goers as they moved through a key public space, transforming a transitional space into a dynamic digital environment.
Our Approach
At the heart of the installation were two 14-metre LED screens flanking a walkway, wrapping the audience in motion and colour. We designed custom looping visual sequences that combined organic motion, festival-inspired colourways, and textural overlays to create a continuous sense of energy and immersion.
Working with Crxss and LS Events, we considered both flow and dwell time-balancing intensity and calm across loops to match the rhythm of crowd movement. The visuals were modular and abstractly designed to feel alive without dominating the space. Every motion layer was timed to evolve gently, shifting from day to dusk in tone as the festival progressed.
The pipeline was optimised for ultra-wide resolution playback, ensuring flawless performance across extended screen surfaces with no compression artefacts or motion mismatch. All content was delivered for playback on-site via festival AV systems, with scope for live content switching or schedule-based programming.
The Results
The immersive zone at Flat Iron Central launched during BST Hyde Park and ran across the festival’s key weekends, drawing in thousands of visitors. The experience elevated what could have been a passive waiting area into a visually rich, atmospheric corridor, contributing to the overall festival identity.
